It starts with listening

We engage with communities and organizations through stakeholder roundtables and intentional conversations, learning how we can best provide support and make a positive impact.

"We bring a holistic approach to building our products sustainably, fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce and giving back to our communities — all of this helps us act responsibly for our stakeholders.”

Regenerative sound

Conserving forests and promoting biodiversity

As a global company, we are committed to fighting climate change. In 2023, Sonos launched a partnership with 1% for the Planet. We donate 1% of our Certified Refurbished sales to high-impact organizations focused on environmental preservation and restoration. We continually look for ways to mitigate our environmental impact and help protect the natural world.

Sonos launched its Regenerative Sound initiative to advance conservation efforts through ecoacoustics, an emerging field that uses acoustic sensors and artificial intelligence to monitor and promote biodiversity. Through this initiative, Sonos has supported leading institutions including the Scripps Acoustic Ecology Laboratory at UC San Diego and the K. Lisa Yang Center for Conservation Bioacoustics at Cornell University. By providing grants to projects protecting endangered species worldwide — from spotted owls in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains to brown-headed spider monkeys in the rainforests of Ecuador — Sonos helps leverage the power of sound to safeguard some of the planet’s most critical habitats.

Working with an award-winning nature recordist, we captured sounds from the Ecuadorian rainforest with the nonprofit Rainforest Connection. You can listen to this spatial audio soundscape on Sonos Radio HD through the Rainforest Sounds station.

Inclusive sound

Championing women and BIPOC in sound

The USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative found that only 3% of audio engineers are women. That doesn't sound right to us, so we're supporting We Are Moving the Needle, a nonprofit founded by Grammy award-winning sound mixer Emily Lazar. Focused on fostering opportunities for underrepresented talent in audio production, We Are Moving the Needle opens doors throughout mentorship and scholarship programs. Our partnership reflects Sonos’s commitment to advancing equity and representation in sound engineering and mixing.

In 2025, we were especially proud to fund scholarships that enabled women to attend a production workshop at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios, led by Sonos Soundboard member and Grammy-nominated engineer Marta Salogni. We also supported two female creators with scholarships to participate in a Mix With the Masters workshop led by Grammy- winning producer Catherine Marks.

Music education

Positively changing the lives of young people

Since 2018, we have donated over $1 million to youth music education programs around the world, partnering with youth orchestras, beatmaking workshops, choral groups, and music camps. We’re proud to have achieved our goal of providing 100,000 hours of quality music education to underserved youth.

For the sixth consecutive year we supported MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration and Innovation, in providing interactive Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) learning for children from Title I schools.

To advance educational equality, we awarded a grant to Mission Scholars, To advance educational equality, we also support Mission Scholars, a nonprofit providing comprehensive college admissions guidance, mentorship, and career development training to low-income students in South Santa Barbara County.
